The first part of the clip is one evening on the Saikyo Line. The rest was taken the next day, taking a Seibu-Ikebukuro Line train into Ikebukuro, visiting the Sony Service Station there, walking around in Ikebukuro a little, and then going back to suburbia via the Seibu-Ikebukuro Line. Also some views of Hibarigaoka. Several daytime views looking out the window of trains, some with the window open. The train also passes by a fenced-in golf driving range, etc. This was taken (by me) in March of 1991, and edited (by me) into this clip on May 30th, 2009.

I still take videos, but not nearly as much. In 1991, I videotaped just about everything (I burned out four cameras between 1990 and 1992). I can't afford to buy another video camera right now, so I'm trying to make the one I have last. Also, people are touchier about cameras, so I just use it from time to time. And... I was pretty fanatically into video in 1991, whereas my interests are more divided now between video, photography, and writing. - LHS

At the time, I had some evening work, so I could ride the trains when they weren't crowded and it was easy to take video. I know am in the thick of the morning crush-rush, and while I physically could take video, it would get people angry. Since everyone has a camera all the time (cell phones) people are becoming allergic to cameras. It was much easier to take pictures in 1991. People would even run in front of the camera ans wave sometimes! Not now! - LHS

Once again, I'm fascinated by the buildings, homes, and stuff as the train speeds by.
Are you still taking videos of your trips? I'm very curious about how things have changed.

The first part shows commuters going home after work - yeah, they are always in a hurry - me too! The rest of the video was taken on a weekend when things are more relaxed. The woman is wearing a graduation... thing (I don't remember the correct word). Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing many of those now - I think maybe more women wear standard kimonos for graduation? I'm not sure. I wandered around in Ikebukuro for a bit - not sure how long! - LHS

Everyone at the begining looks like they're in a rush... including that girl wearing the Hakama...
Ooh there's more! So nice to see people in period clothing.
So how hard was it to find that service station?
