I was at this concert in 1974. Great then, great now. He was up there on stage will Billy Price and the other guys (RIP Byrd Foster) just tearing the place up . No big amps or girly effects rack etc. Just straight into the amp ... great show and his best live recording. I understand the comment below about the "Lonesome Fugitive' solo. His Polydor records were best.
@acousticgrooven Do you ever have auditory memory feedback for days of his music replaying in yr head? I do...it's more like weeks. "Fugitive" has been playing in my head for two weeks now including his gorgeous solo in the middle of it.
@acousticgrooven Is he so underrated, or just not known to that many music fans? For some reason, unknown to me, he didn't become the household word he should have.
Bloody brilliant. His phrasing is just so goddamn solid. Buchanan was so under-rated, but goddamn is he a joy to listen to. Playing the guitar like that, comes straight from the veins.
This is the ONLY version of this song, all other versions and artists pale in comparison . Livestock is one of the best! Its to bad about the buffering, a lot of impatient people will move on and miss the song
Thank you for this! Live Stock was one of my favourite albums from the 70's, although I may have bought it later on (but not much). You know when a piece of music talks directly to you, it's a keeper.
