In January 1984, Black Sabbath began another leg of the Born Again tour. For this leg, Gillan sang "Neon Knights" on several occasions, and it was...interesting...haha. I think Ian Gillan is an amazing vocalist but there are some songs he should just stay away from. This is one of them. Enjoy!

For those of you who are offended by the audio quality, by all means watch something else. I didn't force you to listen to this, thus I shouldn't be forced to read all the stupid comments I get in my inbox regarding this upload. If you choose to ignore this advice and comment anyway about the quality, I'll probably just block you from commenting on anything I've posted, because I simply won't want to read anything typed by an idiot anymore. Thanks.

  • Far as the sound quality goes:Its a boot-leg,ya morons, its supposed to sound a lil'off, henceforth lies the charm,a very rare moment caught in time with a nice" you are there"!kinda quality.Blacksabfan:this kicks ass totaly!got the whole show?

  • @sladest72

Little late, but yeah, I have the whole show of this, in better quality than what's posted, as well as many of the other 1983/84 shows. Funny enough, I live just 10 mins south of Dayton now. Never been to Hara Arena, but see the sign on the interstate for it often. Many big bands don't come to Dayton anymore. They usually go to Cincinnati instead. I suppose playing in Cincy attracts fans from Kentucky.

Why do fucktards give a fuck what other people post?

  • @guitarbutt

Then don't fucking listen to it. Problem solved. I don't recall putting a gun to your head and making you listen to this.

In fact, what should I have put up over 2 years ago? I do have a first gen copy of this show now, but the sound really isn't that much better than what's here. Plus, of all the shows Gillan did with Neon Knights played, this one is probably the best. So how would you have improved on this?

Looking forward to hear some more of your genius on this matter.

  • He should stay from this song, I wish Ian was in his 20's again so we can hear this again.

  • Ian Gillan is fantastic! And Born Again album is fantastic! His voice's good for Black Sabbath. Personally I prefere Gillan to Martin! He's powerful and more brilliant!

  • i was at this show and there was NOTHING ELSE BETTER than to be at a hard rock/ heavy metal show in those days. HARA used to have maybe three shows a week. now in 2011 they have three gun and knife shows a year. HOBART ARENA in TROY has more going on these days. HAIL, HAIL TO THE GOOD TIMES CAUSE ROCK HAS GOT THE RIGHT OF WAY.so many memories, OZZY, JUDAS PRIEST, VAN HALEN, KISS. and i would have a LOT MORE if it were not for all the GOOD DRUGS back in the day.

  • @jzsking Stop the shit, Gillan was fantastic too.

  • was the tape recorder up the bootleggers arse or something? the sound is terrible. as Is Ian Gillan's vocals on this RJD Epic.

  • @gabrielejazz I agree.

  • @blacksabfan That`s guitarbutt well told ! Nice one ! Peace Ye`all !

  • THE BIG NEW Tony Iommi & Ian Gillan a new recording together for 2012!!! More infos here: black-sabbath.oldiblog.com

  • This was Geezer's idea, Gillan was not for it at all, but went along with it. Gillan only agreed to do 'Heaven & Hell' the title cut at various dates, which he did quite well, but nowere close to Dio. I find it strange that they actually did this, when they also rehearsed 'Country Girl' and 'Children of the Sea' from the Dio years, for the 'Born Again' tour. Much more up Gillan's alley, that this track. Gillan having severe vocal nodes at tthe time is quite obvious here too unfortunatly.
