Yeah! ArturZinho: CRAY CX1 Configurator (não é das Organizações Tabajara) is at:
cx1.cray.com >> ConfigureOptions.aspx
Don't add any FERMI Graphic Card -- Don't add any video card, unless you are going to use a renderer that takes advantage of it (see list of video card using CUDA processors inside that cards and RENDERERS using CUDA like iRay, etc).
OK -- FUI...

--- Dear. For longer works, increase the power of the system (total); As mentalray do not use GPU processors, a system example would be something like: 16 Workstatins using NETrender, each Intel i7 980X (6 dualcores / 12 thrads EACH station), 24GB RAM (max-velo.= 25.6 GB/s), QPI speed 6.4 GT/s,12MB L2 cache, SSE4.2 ... Otherwise, some** weel-implemented CRAY CX1 stations group / running W7 (**need calc, because each CX1 is extremely flexible multisystem, natively). See next post:

You should have made the solid ( Geometric form ) dismiss from render pass, used the form to spell a something overtime, the caustics effect being visable only that would interesting indeed. Sadly 3d programs cant do this with going through hoops :/

There's something I don't understand. If it took 4 hours to just render THIS, would a two hour movie take like 2 years?
Would you use some specific material, like dieletric?
arturzinhodabahia 4 months ago
@arturzinhodabahia e ae! Esse é o dieletric material.
