Being born in 1940, I was blessed to be present for part of this thrilling era. At the time, as Helen O'Connell pointed out many times, we didn't know it was an era but we surely knew it was thrilling. A totally different world. Everyone was friendly to everyone. And even it was a segregated world, black and white people who wanted to know each other always managed to do so. That part of the picture is barely remembered or mentioned any more.

My Dad loved to dance and so as a kid growing up in the 40's I was exposed to a lot of good dance music. This recording came along with the desk top radio/phonograph I inherited when he bought a console AM/FM/Phono for the living room. I've listened to this song for over 66 years and never tire of it.
