@Yarach Making anyone work with a Toshiba Satellite is a surefire way to hurt your karma. At least, unless it's been significantly upgraded from stock in the RAM and disk departments...

@a4ndr3c Because for a machine like that, Win95 Lite is a much better, smaller, and easier to implement choice that doesn't involve getting used to a whole different software suite and way of working. So long as you don't want to go online with it, anyway.

Heh, I'm impressed. Did similar some years ago with an old Acer NL350 (P120/24mb), with Win95 Lite, and I'm pretty sure it was no faster... possibly even a touch slower. Battery life didn't significantly increase either. Went up from an 850mb 2.5" disk to a 2Gb CF card ("expensive"! - Laptop was £40 second hand, the CF card £42 new) and apart from the extra capacity and quieter running it didn't seem to benefit much. The machine's disk interface was just too crap. Or maybe it was a bad CF card?

Well, my parents used this thing untill four years ago. I was 14 at that time, and I was fucked. I had to make every scchool project at that piece of old crap. My days were horrible.
