  • Beautiful!

Where i can buy one like this?

  • That's really beautiful... nice job!!!

  • @barryplem Yes! And he landed better!!

  • @paulkazjack True enough, but for control purposes it is. The predator drone is BLS. It's also 5 million dollars. The instrumentation required to control BLS racks up the $ fast. I can talk anywhere in the world on my Ham radio system. But, controlling an R/C craft BLS can't be done with the normal transmitters. Radio only extends to the horizon unless you are generating massive signals. The Predator drones use micro wave satellite links. A little beyond the normal R/C budget.

  • @Nicodemus98 radios arent line of sight! they have a transmitted power expressed as watts.Multiplex for example, their 2.4ghz stuff operates at 100mw,this equates to around 2km in the air.thanx.

  • @pmgodfrey Actually with today's modern radios, you could R/C a full size sail plane. Radio's are line of sight and given the new powerful transmitters, the range would only be limited by the horizon. As long as the plane was in view, it would be in range and control of the transmitter.Given the expense of a sail plane like a Cirrus, it would be a toy for the ultra rich. But it would be doable. Anyway, just saying.

  • What a beautiful scale glider, awesome to watch !

  • clap clap clap.......

  • - @barryplem -

Are you not paying attention to the video?

This is a model sailplane. Granted it's a VERY large 29' 3" wingspan, but there is no one IN the sailplane.

You don't take a full scale sailplane and make it radio controlled.......you could, but it would be irresponsible because after 1.5 to 2 miles out you won't be able to control it and you've now got a big problem on your hands as it would eventually crash and possibly kill someone.

  • successful damage free landings always get applause - its not the easiest part of flying
