@chunkylover86 I agree with you, rory was smart, but i think she was dumb to let him go. jess was stupid... he could have stayed with her instead of letting his impulse dominate him. :/ this scene is so sad. I feel for them.

Oh my God, all these people whining about "I can't believe she said no to Jess! He's just sooo dreamy!" Seriously, people. Rory running off at 19 to live with Jess in New York? Jess?! Do you people not listen to Tracy Chapman songs? This ends well for no one. She was smart. I love that the show ended with her alone. There are worse things on this planet than being single in your early twenties.

Why ??? Say yes Rory !

@Lexpelliarmus ITA. I can see why she said no, but she still didn't have the right to treat him and talk to him the way she did. I mean she just completely walked all over his heart right there without so much as thinking about how she was hurting him. And then she went and slept with Dean the next day. When Jess comes back it just undeniably proves how they're meant to be together & how he knows her the best! Even if people think Jess is a jerk, they can't deny that R&J are an amazing couple.

(cont) Which brings me to my next point...when Rory eventually DOES drop out of school, starts partying and drinking with Logan and his friends, and basically starts throwing the life she wanted away, It's Jess who comes back, knocks some sense into her and reminds her who she was. Because he really does know her better than anyone...I don't think Amy and Dan would have written that line for Jess twice if it wasn't true.

The thing about this scene...it breaks my heart but I can see why she said no. He was being irrational right here and they BOTH needed time to mature a bit more. But the thing is,even at this point, she didn't have to throw anything away. It was the beginning of Summer break,he wasn't asking her to drop out of school,he was asking her to go away with him. She could've stayed with him for the summer or something because there's no way in hell Jess would've let her drop out of school for good.

Jess messed up big time with Rory, we all know that. He left because he was too ashamed to admit to her his faults and couldn't bear to see her so disappointed in him. However, you CANNOT compare any of her other love interests and tell me any of them were more compatible with the true Rory personality. They met on such a different level. Dean was a pretty boy &could never be as intellectual. Logan was a bratty, rich, douche. As contradicting as he seems, Jess loved and I mean really LOVED Rory.

@kpod1228 what an idiot SHE is??? if he really was ready he wouldnt demand that she abandon her future and her life for a guy who did nothing but let her down in the past. his problem (or one of his problems, cause its jess, theres a lot to chooose from) is he expects rory to just fall into his arms whenever he;s around. he didnt do a damn thing to deserve in those past two years and he shows up and wants her to throw her life away for him? i was relieved she turned him down

This scene breaks my heart. Jess finally is ready and opens up his heart and Rory says no, what an idiot she is. Jess and Rory belonged with each other.

Jess and Rory are seriously meant to be. Nobody understood Rory like Jess!
Stupid Rory! I can't believe she chose Dean over Jess. And then Logan! Ugh! This scene is so heartbreaking. Jess is right! They are suppose to be together. Jess and Rory forever!
