You have to take that stuff. The foot needs a complete trim.

good stuff! and good you mentioned, that you leave her some material for support and not cutting her down all the way at ones - and that's what's my trainer says that for a barefooted horse you might leave some support until the horse has grown a solid hoof. btw: he's a "classic" farrier ;o) Do you have an update on this mare? Anyway, thank you for you effort with all that video stuff!

Thanks for the video, Linda. I have Arabs with really hard soles and hoof wall. I squirt their feet with Hydrogen Peroxide before trimming, it helps soften the wall so I can more easily use the nippers and rasp. I learn a lot from your videos, always a new tip or technique!
