This is an episode of Chris Rosebrough's Fighting for the Faith that I was on back in December of last year. While the show has many humorous parts, the problem is a very serious one. When we try to be "culturally relevant" by incorporating what the culture already uses and disposes of on a daily basis, we lose our relevance to the culture. I hope in this edition of Fighting for the Faith, it shows how important it is to exegete Scripture for the benefit of others and not our own life experiences or popular movies.

Here is Jim Bublitz's Old Truth that was mentioned in this episode. Even though it isn't updated regularly anymore, there is still a wonderful archive of articles there.:

  • review is longer than the movie @_@ did anyone watch it completely ?

  • is it me or is this over 2 hours?

  • Did they SERIOUSLY just drop an f-bomb on a christian raidio broadcast?!? (time; 1:06:34) That's terrible! We're supposed to be examples! This is one channle I'd encourage everyone to avoid.

  • Worst. Sermon. Ever.

  • What's his problem with Kathryn Scott lol? Or does he have this thing for taking the first stanza of a worship song and making fun of the whole song because of it? The Kung Fu Panda guy was hilarious though. What's next? "I went to pour myself some cereal this morning and a box of cereal fell out of the cabinet and smacked me in the head. I think there was a message from God in there somewhere." Yet another effect of mixing scripture with human experience.

  • by about 1:44:00 I was litterally lol.

It really is quite sad but it is comical too. Thi is a disgrace to preaching the Gospel!

  • this is pretty aweful.

  • I just wanted to make a comment on the statement (you guys made for emphasis) that this "sermon" wasn't for kids, but adults, AS IF THIS SERMON WOULD HAVE BEEN ACCEPTABLE EVEN FOR CHILDREN! The children in our church are learning scripture, the 'Lord's prayer', the 'armor of God', 'apostles creed', children's version of the Westminster Shorter Catechism... and why did you guys continue to refer to him as a pastor--he defiles the office/calling; you guys were to kind.

    Contending 4 the Faith

  • Hey brothers, I got to admit, this was so ridiculous that it did make me laugh, but this is sad and scary. People are trusting their eternal souls to this charlatan. This is an abomination and perversion of the glorious gospel. Its always encouraging to see fellow brothers contending for the faith. Keep exposing this nonsense to the glory of God and the good of the church.

    Soli Deo Gloria -

  • This is so entertaining. Is it bad that im entertained by heritics Lane? One of my favorite shows to watch is TBNs praise-a-thon. I like to see more of this stuff. Could you believe people actually try to defend this stuff.
