I just read somewhere that this performance by MJ was nominated for an Emmy. I can certainly see why. It was beautiful, touching, perfection and sooooo heartfelt for his friend and one of his idols, Sammy Davis Jr. I miss them both.

I was and probably am a harsh critic of MJ the man ...........but not the performer. I remember when I saw this broadcast I was moved to tears ... still am. MJ you had a very big heart and were a magnificent genius performer.

I think when Michael said "You took the hurt, you took the shame" he was talking about Sammy being kicked out of nightclubs because he was black, even when Frank was his co-star. I know Frank always stood up for Sammy. God bless you Michael. You are and angel walking among us. A true star, humanitarian, and a gentle human being. And God bless Sammy.
