Did you know that before they slaughter the duck for the traditional French dish, foie gras(duck liver), they force feed the duck by inserting food through a tube in its esophagus 3 to 4 times a day for several weeks prior to slaughter day so they gain lots of weight and the liver is fattened 12 times its normal size.
