Buckhorn State Park was designated a park in 1971. The park and two adjacent state wildlife areas cover 5,900 acres on a peninsula in the Castle Rock Flowage of the Wisconsin River. The flowage that covers 13,955 acres is the 5th largest body of water in the state. Fishing and all sorts of water sports dominate the activities. You can access the 45 campsites by land or water. I totally agree. For a state park it sucked pretty bad. Not to mention the water in the summer is horrible. Lots of algae. the presentation doesnt mention anything on how these are man made lakes. I love how it said glacier on the first part of the presentation.

I regret camping at Buckhorn. I was unable to reserve a site at Devil's Lake so I thought I would give this place a try. I should of just stayed at home.
