  • I have canon TT5 and sekonic l358 with RT-32N module installed. Using the PW utility tool, for my configuration 2, I had the "Use ControlTl for Rx Channel" unchecked and saved. I verified that it was saved correctly to my TT5 by unplugging and replugging it into the PW utility to confirmed that it was saved. Then I set my PW to ch2 and my L-358 to Ch2. I pressed the trigger button (10) on the sekonic to trigger the PW but it failed to fire the flash. Can you help?

  • @phoeticmemories There is one piece of missing information: What flashes are you using and how are you connecting them.

Go back to your set up and press the measuring button of the L-358 to see the red monitor lamp light on the Flex that you set to receive RX CH2. If the red light comes on, the Flex received the trigger signal from the L-358. If the red light blinks, you probably have a Canon flash in the shoe set for ETTL. Needs to be on Manual mode.

  • @pocketwizardvids (continued) If you are using a connecting cable coming out of the flash port of the FlexTT5 and into the PC or other special terminal of the flash and you get a red light but no flash, check your connections or the cord itself. If I completely missed this, please call in with your equipment near you so that one of our phone techs can walk you through it.

  • I have a Nikon SB900 Flash (set to Manual) attached to a FlexTT5 PW. I'm running the latest firmware on the TT5 and using a newer version of the PW Utility software than you're showing in your video.

My Light Meter is the Sekonic L-758DR. I have both devices set to Channel 1. I can't get the flash to trigger. The PW indicator light turns red when I press the button on the Sekonic, but no flash goes off. What gives?

  • I have 2 TTL5 and a TT1. Do I have to uncheck TTL on ALL of the units before I use my Sekonic L758DR with my Mini&Flex system?

  • Thanks for this!

  • @c4dfreak You must live a pathetic life.

  • Not using Flex TT5. Having problems with Plus II's inside a church. Maybe electronic interference. Camera triggers lights with no problem, but L-385 would only trigger from close distances. Any thoughts on this?

  • @tetracaine1 Thank you so much for your post. I was tearing my hair out over this and your recommendation solved my issue. Thanks again! Hank

  • @phoeticmemories I share your pain; To get this system to work you must, 1) Uncheck the "Use Control Tl for Rx Channel" box, 2) Select the channel you wish to use (also the channel you will select on your meter and Flex TT5) in the "Use Standard Channel" drop down menu and 3) Be sure your flashes are in manual, and NOT TTL mode.

  • i think you should do a hyper sync and HHS video on how to config and operate

  • I just read above... I had no flash on the Flex when I tried this...

  • It didn't work on my L-358.... I had the Flex set up to work with my Plus2 and when I did what you said in the Video, it didn't work with the Sekonic or my Plus2, I had to re-clone my flex again... So now what?

  • Test

  • Why in the hell do you drop all your gear, I see the 758dr is missing the jog wheel. Nice! Info was ok but your dropping of gear was strange, I think you were trying to be cool but you are a dork! I could care less if you are inspired to do anymore videos, If you had to pay for the gear I bet you would respect it. !

  • Zack could you do a video on the CURRENT tabs/ability to configure TT1 or TT5 with the PocketWizard Utility? Specifically going over HyperSync! What's the highest shutter speed I can get with my Canon 5D Mk II?

  • Hi,

Shouldn't the L-758Dr read the F instead of the T while on Flash wireless transmitter mode?

as it's the F stop that counts …isn't it ?

    Thanks

  • Hi! I also have a Nikon Flex TT5 & Mini TT1 PW and I'm using SB 900 Flashes But i can't fire it true my light meter Sekonic L-358. Do i do like your video tutorial on you tube Sekonic + Flex TT5.

or differently. Can you please help me? Thank You.

  • Hi! I also have a Nikon Flex TT5 & Mini TT1 but i can't get my Sekonic L-358 to fire remotely . do i do same as you show on youtube video? or differently. can you please help me?

  • So can you save one setting (configuration in the software) for metering with the L-358 and save one for shooting TTL and jump between the settings when needed?

  • that was hilarious :22 dropping the flex tt5 and meter to the ground.

  • Thanks for the great help.... 1 last step... if using the new software upgrade and the Nikon SB-900 - click 'Misc" on the Pocket wizard Utility then check the "Basic firing mode" - and your flash has to be in manual mode... Mine did not work till I did this...

  • Hello have a Elinchrom Quadra RX A head flash unit and cannot get it to go off beyond 320th on my camera (Nikon D3S)? All my Pocket Wizards are Flex TT5's . I have read that some are getting much faster speeds than 320. I also ordered a Elinchrom Ranger RX 1100ws w/ a PW ST4 and its being shipped, should be here Friday; that's also an A head. Could you please provide a video on this. Thanks;0)

  • Can we use a light meter when using the hypersync mode on studio light, like Bowens studio strobe (for example if I expect to shoot at 1/1600 sec) ... apologize: using flextt5 and Mini TT1 on Nikon D3X

  • Can we use a light meter when using the hypersync mode on studio light, like Bowens studio strobe (for example if I expect to shoot at 1/1600 sec) ...
