Caught In A Bad Romance (3x01)

1 Year & 3 Months Later...
On a steamy clouldless day in Newport, Nick stepped out of his car followed by one of his best friends. Taylor examines the building in front of them, their high school. "I'd say school missed us, what do you think Rae?"
Rae Cyrus, the average seventeen year old steps out of the car with a whole new look. She no longer cared about dressing up and looking perfect. She lowered the hood on her black hoodie and looked ahead. Another year, at least she was finally a juinor. Two more years and she was done with this place forever.
She already had it planned in her head. She would graduate, hopfully, than take off and vanish. She would miss her two best friends dearly but this wasnt about them. Everything she's ever done in her life had been for other people. This was the time to be selfish for once.
"Rae?" Taylor was waiting patiently for any kind of response from her.
Rae looks over and slightly smiles, "I'd say its missed my trouble making chaios, your fashion trends, and Nick's ability to hit on every girl that walks the halls."
"Hey! The girls come to me, I cant help that I'm irresistible."
Taylor laughs, "Oh please, you couldnt get a girl if she were made of rubber."
"..Like your the expert on dating, when was the last time you had a boyfriend Tay-lor."
Rae smiled, moments like these was what she was going to miss the most. " Alright you two can we stop bickering and get this day over with.
"She started it."
Taylor rolls her eyes
Rae takes caution before walking in the school doors
Taylor stops and looks at her, "Come on Rae, everyone's probably forgotten about last year."
Nick nods and puts his hand on her shoulder, "Yeah Rae, I'm sure your old news by now."
Just like clockwork Selena and her gang of skanks walk by, "Oh look Rae's back, everyone guard your boyfriends we all know what a slut Rae can be, just ask Liam."
Rae steps up to her and raises her voice so everyone in the halls would hear, "I might have had Liam's baby buy at least I'm less of a slut than you who tried to have sex with your own brother on the kitchen table!"
Selena looks around as everyone stares, pointing and laughing. Her checks flush of a light crimson.
Nick raises his voice, "I rejected!"
"You guys suck!" She walks away to the girls bathroom.
Rae laughs and high fives Nick. She looks over at the crowd and sees him, Liam. Every muscle in her body tightens and suddenly it has become hard to swallow. Maybe he would welcome her back to school, she doubted it.
Liam looks at her flatly, not a trace of emotion in his face. He was the one that broke eye contact as he turned around and walked in the other direction.
Rae finally exhales but the pain was still there, the pain from everything that had happened since she moved her, the baby, Liam, the bad romance between her and a teacher that resulted in nothing but regret and heartbreak. She puts her head down but feels two arms lock on each side of her, one was from Nick, the other was from Taylor. No matter what this year held for her. She new she could get through with friends like these. She had to.
