where can i find this sheet music? I love this suite.

@davidrattray Weiss' music is not very contemporary so i dont see how he could have that great of an affinity to weiss than say Robert Barto. Hopkinson sounds like a classical guitarist playing a lute.

Is not rubato, is a l'égalité stile.

What can I say about Hopkinson Smith??
Give me more!!

Smith is a wonderful musician, but I think his Courante here misses a chance to catch something majestic about Weiss: after that crushing, soul-defeating Allemande, the Courante is a defiant recovery, a tragic dance in a minor mode which needs no help from distracting rubato -- no, nothing more is needed than a simple, unblinking, shoulders-back, head straight-up, insistent, STEADY tempo of a mortal dancing in the teeth of the deep grief and loss he has just sung

Thanks for posting this. Hopkinson Smith is one of my favorite musicians. This is such a luxuriant and expressive performance.
Hopkinson has a great affinity for Weiss, he always reminds us how great his music is and to me, he makes the music seem contemporary and alive.
