@electroscribe love the history lesson!! Thank you!

Engine 3 originally was open cab, but after the events of August, Arcadia Engine 3 and Sierra Madre VFD Crown 423 and 424s suddenly "grew" canopies and 4-lamp red turret lights replacing the old oscillating Mars lights. Believe the Arcadia FD Snorkel had a B&M B & M CS8B and the old closed-cab Mac engines at Arcadia stations 1 and 2 had S8M9. Engine (3)3's siren was lower-pitched than the rest, possibly a Federal \?) -same as the old Arcadia police cars with 20sided Mars Model 77 lights on top.

I lived in Arcadia from 1961 to 1973. I remember the old Crown FireCoach Engine (3)3 (Now 107) on Orange Grove. It did not have a SuperChief, but Snorkel (3)1 did. The old early 1960s US Forest Service engines at the now-closed Sierra Madre Guard Station ( and LA County Fire Patrols #44 (Duarte) and #66 (Eaton Canyon) had Super Chiefs. They used to come bail out our neighborhood when brush fires broke out. The patrol pickup easily drowned out the puny electronic siren on Engine 44.

@electoscribe , Super Chief siren!!! Check my vids for a demo of the current stainless B&M model!! They still sell two other models as well. Check their web site!!

Is that a Timberwolf siren or a B&M Super-Chief? Found out that B&M still markets and sells the Super-Chief and the siren in this clip sounds more higher pitched than the samples of the Timberwolf T-6 on their web site. Would be interested to know which one it is.
