It is 27th of November 1962 when the capital city of United States prepares to welcome the premier minister Abirashid Ali Shermarke (R.I.P) of the Somali Republic. Red-carpet treatment greeted Premier Abirashid Ali Shermarke. President John F. Kennedy spent several hours with him underscoring growing American interest in East Africa. Good old times!
This footage brought tears to my eyes, seeing together Abdirashid ( The president)majerteen, Abdullahi Isse ( foreign affair minister)Habargedir and Omar Moalin (Somali ambassador to United States) Ogaden. They were all well deserve in their positions. Anyone who ever met each of them can say the were good somali patriotic men. May allah blessed them their soul ameen.

Good times indeed! This was before Siad Bare and the military came to power and on the way created today's crazy warlords and extremists. Today you cant visit Washington representing Somalia wearing that Islamic cup and expect such welcome.
Kennedy and Rashid were both noble men. Both missed.
