Sorry, I forgot the exact method. I think Y was the hotkey for splitting to objects though.
Nevertheless you should find a solution on the forum at blenderartists.

I have a question, it keeps on slipping away from me. 2:34 How do I do that, I don't want a bunch of don't and faces to select. Thanks.

@alexvasilenko14 If you're selecting faces, and not vertices (If I get this correct), you can just switch that with the buttons in the menu or the hotkeys Ctrl+Tab+1, 2 and 3. Use those and see what buttons in the menu toggle, that way I don't have to explain exactly where they are.
