How to assign more than one material to a single mesh or object.
We're continuing with the Lightsaber model we made in a pervious tutorial. If you don't want to follow that or just want the .blend file for some reason download it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/114856920/lightsaber.blend.html

A quick correction: "I have orthographic turned on"? What kind of a sentence is that? I meant to say my view is in orthographic mode not perspective.

  • tutorial starts at 1:57 ;)

  • @r4jk3 Good point :D

  • I have a question, it keeps on slipping away from me. 2:34 How do I do that, I don't want a bunch of don't and faces to select. Thanks.

  • @alexvasilenko14 If you're selecting faces, and not vertices (If I get this correct), you can just switch that with the buttons in the menu or the hotkeys Ctrl+Tab+1, 2 and 3. Use those and see what buttons in the menu toggle, that way I don't have to explain exactly where they are.

  • AHHHH SSoooooooooo! Thanks Man ......That works well!

  • @Mike2008and2008 I'm glad that you find it useful :)

  • Hey, great video man. I used your method to help model a Boeing 737 that I'm using in a video game trailer. Keep it up man. I'd like to see you do one on UV Mapping sometime. Message me on this account and I'll give you my email

  • Sorry, I forgot the exact method. I think Y was the hotkey for splitting to objects though.

Nevertheless you should find a solution on the forum at blenderartists.
