Salute to the F-35

Don't stop the cutbacks, we have no regrets
We know the real priority is fighter jets
Let the seniors starve, let the poor take the pain
We must all make our choices and our choice is plane
Let us fire food inspectors, they'll drain the public purse
(if you swallow that story, e coli won't be worse)
Let the jobless wait in a line that never ends
while we hand out the contracts to our corp'rate friends
So look out, social programs, we're getting out the knives
All we need is our F-35s

Oh we've rigged the bidding and we've cooked the books
so the auditor general can't call us crooks
We're defending our spending until the battle's won
on a wing and a ten billion dollar overrun
Let us build the floats for the victory parade
All that's left to decide is who we should invade
All it takes is a warplane to give us back our drive
All we need is an F-35

And it's hip hip hooray for Peter MacKay
Schooled in the way of the good old USA
He hoped that the big boys would finally let him play
'Cause he spent his finest hour renaming the peace tower
Said, "an F-35 would look great in my garage
And no one will look cooler coming from the fishing lodge"
So when caught in a lie, he just looked at the sky
And sung as he hung the civil service out to dry:

"Let the critics shout as the pressure keeps mounting
It's only a ten-billion difference in accounting

'Cause there's just one aircraft that can meet our bogus specs
It's our one, one luxury in tough, tough times
(plus the prisons we're building for those unreported crimes)

When the poor and the helpless are fighting for their lives
We can let them eat F-35s

Sorry - Im not impressed by pseudo intellectual whingers and their bleeding heart beauquis tirades..no matter how creative they think they are. The DND has seen a requirement for new fighter jets for the air force. So, lets procure them and give the VOLUNTEERS of the military the tools they deserve. In a weathy country like Canada, with all of it's recourcfulness, theres no reason why we cant take care of our needy and public services as well as arm our troops. Doesnt have to be one or the other
