Oh, and if the current rot in British pop culture (as measured by the mass experience) has a definitive prehistory it is to be found in Rockschool. The most Thatcherite programme ever made, no question.

No, there were three more evenings plus one more daytime period after this. The COW debuted before Wogan on the Monday.
