We had one in a 'television room' in the 60's. It served well for guests sleeping over. The older I got, the less I wanted to sit on it. Anyone over a 100 lbs did not find it all that comfortable to sit or sleep on. Oh, well. Memorable jingle.
At the time of the jingle, the Russians (incontrovertibly) were the first to "conquer space" with Sputnik 1 and the Moon & Venus landings. First woman in space: USSR. The US's first man on the moon came a few years after these jingles were made.

Never had one, but they sound wonderful!
Intereresting historical perspective to this.
People were wrapped up in "the space race", which, at the time, probably meant : who would be the first nation to get to the moon?
