After 50 years of collecting toy trains and their stations Jerry Greene has amassed a collection of over 40,000 pieces, worth tens of millions of dollars. Martha Teichner finds out how he did it and what happens to a collector when they have nothing left to collect.

Has this collection been sold? I am skeptical it can go as one lot. I will log on to Sotheby's. Obviously, few of us can afford to buy the whole collection, but if the pieces go in smaller lots.....

This is facinating. I'm collecting toy cars since 2005. But this inspires me to go for something different and not those off the shelve stuff anymore.
