Steve Wilson, vice president of Blackstone Sports, discusses Blackstone's innovative Flat Bottom V skate sharpening technique. The segment also features Flames equipment manager Gus Thorson.
I tried 90/75 today, complete loss in confidence with certain maneuvers as you lose grip in places you don't expect to. Sent the skates back to the shop to move to 100/50 and see if there is any improvement. If not, I'm going back to traditional.
Who did a guy with such terrible sharpening technique have to blow to get a job with an NHL club? Seriously, way to round the fronts and backs of the blades into bananas, hammer. Maybe that explains why the Flames suck. I wouldn't trust you to sharpen a pencil.
