I couldn't find a good cheap way to repair my serpentine spring couch in upholstery books or on the web, so this is what I came up with. -works great! :)

  • Unfortunately, it only lasted about 6 months before I had to replace the ties. They stretch out eventually and break. I've been trying a couple approaches from DIY Upholstery Supply. I'll repost if any work. I couldn't get the twine to work, I think because the couch is too big. everything else costs $100+ between tools and materials. That's a lot of ties, so if you are looking for a shorter term solution, this is still a good way to go.

  • i did this and it did not work. it only stretched the springs out more and now it's even worse. i am going to replace the springs.

  • Great idea, sorry it didn't last. What about wire, a strong, stranded wire, with a clip to hold the two ends together... have you thought of that??

  • @fushizelmyniz 4 months I've waited for an answer, thanks!
