I know where every single spot in this video was shot. This is the EX UP Santa Cruz Branch line. I used to live in Aptos, California along this Santa Cruz Branch line from 1985 till 2004 for nearly 20 years. I actually graduated from Aptos High School. I used to live on my great grandparents 23 acres of property down the road from Aptos High School. I have video on my youtube account that I shot of the UP Santa Cruz Local running on the Santa Cruz Branch Line.

Sierra Northern 48 was involved in a bad wreck a few months ago. saw pictures, was not pretty. buddy on yahoo group was on the train as conductor, but wasn't too badly injured.

@ThomasRivette: I heard that, too, for tracks between Santa Cruz and Davenport. While scouting the area, I noticed that the scenery between Watsonville and Capitola is not too shabby either.
