We Play - Asterix (Arcade) - 01 - Obelix - Get off me!

Definately one of the better Asterix games. And as usual - it's insanely difficult. This one at least has an excuse - it's an Arcade game. A Konami beat em up, so you know it's quality. Great graphics, some great music, and this game actually has quite a few maneuvers for the game type. This never got a home console port, which is a shame, as it's an absolute blast.

A blast that continues to kick your ass, but a blast anyway. Thank god for infinite continues!

Both me and Ksorian are Asterix fans, so expect some idle conversation about the books, movies.. and yes, even the Megadrive Asterix games.

Also my memory appears to have failed me. From watching some footage (alibeit not much footage) - of the English dub of Asterix and the Big Fight, it appears Bill Oddie isn't that good an Asterix as I once thought. The unknown actors who played him in Twelve Tasks and Asterix in Britain were definately better. Also, I still think Craig Charles does in fact, suit him, British accent aside. A short actor to voice act a short character. What's not to love? XD

The "terrible American dub" I'm reffering to is the version of Asterix and the Big Fight that is on the DVD box set. It honestly does render the film unwatchable. It's got to be the most dumbed down tripe i've ever had the misfortune of watching. The rest of the box set is alright, (altough the first film is terrible, the rest are pretty good.), a might be worth picking up. If you do pick it up, for the love of god, do not attempt to watch Asterix and the Big Fight on that set. It's painful. Honestly.

This is a fairly long game (for an arcade beat em up), so theres a few more parts after this.

Definitely need free play on if your going all the way. Otherwise you get one continue and the game ends after you die a second time.
