Step inside John Good's office and take a seat. The story of DW's innovative Super Solid Snare Drums will blow your mind. Never before have drums been able to truly be made from a single piece of lumber. These drums sound as amazing as the process used to make them. See the transformation from raw blank to stunning CNC cut musical instrument. Powerful and Dry in the center, Orchestrally sensitive towards the edge, and the Rimshot that will "take your head off."

Available now at all authorized DW Drum dealers.

  • oh, make me a 3/4" bubinga shell, that would be cool!

  • @wp08021 Aw people are fascinated with the solid Bubinga shell these days. We are going to have a new snare for the PDP line which will be a Maple/Bubinga 18 ply hybrid snare. :)

  • What is the most important thing to consider when cutting snare beds? depth? width? etc

  • @scott111193 You have included what matters most with cutting snares beds. Depth and Width. You want enough room for the snare wires to fit snug and flush without is being to tight choking the snare wires or to loose obviously. Our specs that work for all size snares 1/4 deep by 5-6 inches wide.

  • who's playing? it sounds to me like Bozzio or maybe Wackerman, what's the name of the song?

  • @asel1124 Terry Bozzio has a Japanese collection that this track came from. Good ear!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc well, i would like to talk with john good, personally, about making just a solid bubinga shell, made by DW

  • @BennexD We hear you! Our metals shells are not to far off from that now. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc how about making a "super solid" metal shell??

like copper, bronze, aluminium, brass, steel....

it would be an awesome heavy and loud sound!

  • @TheWordChurch08 Thanks for asking! We have a lead time of about 16 weeks right now for Super Solids which are made from Maple wood. You best chance to getting one sooner is too check with your local authorized DW drums dealer.
