This was from a T-38, not an F-16.

waste of taxpayer dollars. I could have retired just by selling that aircraft.

The N stands for compressor stage. The first stage compressor blades are called N1. NL apparently stands for the low pressure stage. NL...NLow. T6 stands for Temperature probe. T2 is engine inlet temperature and the engine computer looks at difference between engine inlet temp and exhaust temp, T6. "T6NL" is a comparison between the T6 temp probe and the expected compressor shaft speed. It's a logic function in the computer. High temp at T6 AND low rpm at NL equals a warning activation.

correct, also "N" stands for abnormal shaft rotation speed in the engine and the "L" stands for low pressure.

Had it been an F-16; the EPU would have given him enough flight time to engage in an SFO to land.
