  • I'm thinkin about puttin dual flows on my '85 300.

  • It'll sound like a Rice Burner.

  • Yeah, i'm with you on that the 300 sounds better when it is quiet, because when it loud it just sounds bad!! anyways your 300 is one of the best i have heard yet! is the 300 EFI or carbed? and what is mpg u r getting? thanx alot.

  • It's EFI.. I get about 16 on a good day. Really it's anywhere from 14 to 16. I got 18 once following real close to a U-Haul on a long hilly trip. I even had a mild load. Go figure. I'm geared low so you can't expect to get good mileage. Your 87 should do better than mine assuming everything is in workingorder. A realistic mileage out of these trucks is roughly 17.5, but many get less or more. It al depends and larely on a driver. =)

  • Your truck sounds great!! i was wondering wat series of flowmaster's those are because i am getting 1987 ford f150 with the 300 I6 and i would really like it to sound like that!! oh and is it true dual or just 1 into 2? i would really appreciate it, thanx

  • Hey man thanks for the kind comment. My series Flowmaster is a "Super 44". I strongly recomend a 50 series though. I've never had one on my truck but the 300 sounds better with a more quiet muffler. My set up is a two pipes into one (the cat) that runs into the muffler. The muffler has dual pipes exiting. "Fake" dual exaust. If I could do it gain though, I would run a Flowmaster 50 series, single in, single out, 3'' with a Diesel exhaust tip in factory location. That's just me though!

  • Hey man, it's 6:16 in the morning here. lol Do you know what gear ratio your truck will be? One thing about it, with Granny gear, you will be able to pull a house off it's foundations. Perhaps slowly, but still. I wish I had a manual with G. I have an automatic. About my exhaust; it's weird, when I first start the truck when it's really cold, only steam will come out of the right side. After a short while, perhaps five minutes? steam comes out of both and they more or less balance out.

  • 16 is not bad for a low gear truck, and is yours a manual or auto? my 87 is a 4 speed manual, and the first gear is granny- low.. so i dont think it will do so great on mpg. and with the exhaust on yours, does it flow about the same out of each pipe? because i saw one truck that had the same setup as yours and one side was blowing all the fumes, while the other was barely anything?? i appreciate it
