Sometimes, you only need to connect to your web server to check a directory structure, if a file is really there, upload a single file, download a few files or something as simples as that. For those simple and day-to-day tasks you don't need to install or launch other specialized applications such as FileZilla, WS_FTP, Cute FTP and such. This is to show how to connect to your web server using FTP with Windows 7.

  • Hope you don't mind, but I've posted this tutorial on my website for clients.

  • @LMPMediaUK Go ahead. :)

  • Can i do that on windows vista?

  • @dkdanny30 Yes you can. Choose Map Network Drive... Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures... enter your FTP server account settings. I did not try this with Vista and I don't know how Vista handles FTP transfers. :p
