KALI CERTIFICATION - BATTLEFIELD KALI

http://www.battlefieldkali.com A brief introduction by Burton "Lucky Dog" Richardson to the methods used in the Battlefield Kali Single Stick Certification program. This is all about fighting, not about theoretical technique. Battlefield Kali can be added to any martial arts program to enhance the functional weaponry aspects of training. The main emphasis is to develop the skills necessary to defeat an opponent who is resisting 100%! But, we have a progressive system based upon safe sparring. I want to include my sincere thanks to all my teachers, but especially to my guide since 1980 Tuhon Dan Inosanto. He is the most knowledgeable martial artist in the world, and he is incredibly generous with that knowledge which has taken a lifetime to garner. Maraming Salamat Po Tuhon!

i like to go out of my way to compliment Mr. Richardson on pretty much everything he does, not as an expert myself but on the idea that wherever he is at in his progression in the arts he chooses to share it wholeheartedly with others without ego. he just wants to teach other people what he knows at whatever level they may be at. and he will put himself in real situations to prove it. to place being a teacher before being a "master" is to truly be a master in my humble opinion. RESPECT.

Can Varable Intensity be used to make kali tudo palatable to various State Athletic Commisions?

@ATACXGYM I think it will be awhile before full contact weaponry fighting is accepted by athletic commissions. Maybe more of a reality show venue.

@BurtonRichardson Kali tudo as a professional sport? State Athletic Commissions by and large still get woozy at MMA events,lol.I don't see them sanctioning full contact w/minimal armor. BATTLEFIELD KALI is profitable but it's not a sport dependant upon PPV sales. Kal-tudo would be the penultimate sport combat model; guns+kali tudo (my training method) is probably "The Final Level" like THE LAST DRAGON.Lol.

@BurtonRichardson I have been arguing that very point--passing doesn't happen unless the guy is tryingto rip your head or guts out and you parry and/or dodge the blow--for YEARS now,Burton.My kali and Concepts friends--especially Concepts--INSIST that my rare employment of the pass is due to not cultivating the skill to FORCE a pass on an opponent's attack or block.When you put out a single stick disarm DVD? Lemme know so I can buy it and show these guys what real OG stickfighters do.Thanx!
