Nick: *still watching her* youre more than you think you are, you know that right?
Sel: *looks back at him confused* what do you mean?
Nick: You do so much more than you realise. You take care of your brother 24/7 aswell as yourself, you have to put up with school, you have to put up with your family... you have to put up with me and Frankie when you could be going and hanging out with the many boys who are already falling at your feet...
Sel: *throws her head back in hysterics* dude, NO ONE is falling at my feet. Believe me. If they were, theyd of said something by now.
Nick: *raises his eyebrows and smiles at her* And what if theyre worried about being rejected?
Sel: Please, i give anyone a fair chance, unless i absolutely hate his guts.
Nick: *drops his eyebrows and frowns* and what if theyre worried about losing you?
Sel: *shrugs* I always stay friends with my ex-boyfriends; one of them is my best friend at home. It doesnt matter to me... *Sighs* and its not like theyd lose much anyway.
Nick: *watches her for a few more seconds before grabbing her hand with his and carries their books in his other hand and drags them out of the school gates and down the road with Sel*
Sel: *looks at Nicks tight and firm grip on her hand and jogs to keep up with him* where are we going? School hasnt even started, yet.
Nick: *stares ahead, watching where hes going* Like Ive said before, just say you were with me and you wont get in any trouble.
Sel: *gives up and lets him guide her*
*5 minutes later they arrive at a deserted beach*
Nick: *stops and looks at Selena*
Sel: *stops aswell but looks ahead of her and walks slowly down, mesmerised*
Nick: *doesnt let go of her hand and walks with her*
Sel: This place is amazing!
Nick: *Smiles* Yeah, it is *Watches as the wind blows Selenas hair and how she doesnt notice as she is so amazed by the sight*
Sel: *lies down on the sand and rests her head on her arms*
Nick: *takes off his jacket, lies down next to her, lifts up her head and puts his jacket underneath for her to lean on and lies facing her* I come here sometimes during school to take my mind off everything. It a good place to escape. No one ever comes here. Its like my own special place *looks out at the sea*
Sel: *smiles at him* wow, youre deep! Didnt expect that *giggles* nah, i know what you mean. I used to go for walks around with my iPod until i found a place to sit and just be by myself *closes her eyes* But since we moved, Ive settled for just heading to the park and swinging to take everything off my mind.
Nick: *looks at her again*
Sel: *opens her eyes and sees him watching her* what?!?!
Nick: Im just trying to figure out how you do it. You show up around a week ago and within that time, youve managed to completely change everything in my world as i knew it. As corny as it may sound, youve changed me. Youre the first person at school who Ive spoken to since my parents left.
Sel: *stares at him in shock* you really havent spoken to one of those people since you were like 9?
Nick: *shrugs* ever since, theyve been coming up with ridiculous rumours about me, about where my family are, about how old i really am, saying im a serial killer and loads more.
Sel: *laughs* theyre loss for not knowing the real you, then.
Nick: *smiles at her*
*later, that night, Selena and Nick are both at their homes*
Nick: *hears a knock on the door and opens it* WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!
*next day at school*
Sel: *at her locker*
Taylor: *sees her alone and walks up to her* so, wheres Loverboy know then?
Sel: *rolls her eyes at him* *sarcastically* Hi, nice to see you too *laughs* anyway, who said he was my Loverboy?
Taylor: oh please. You guys spend every second together and you expect us to believe that nothings going on? The dude doesnt talk to anyone, Sel. Hes dangerous. Please, listen.
Sel: *remembers what Nick said the day before about people making up ridiculous rumours about him* Taylor, i dont have time for this now. But maybe you shouldnt believe the first thing people tell you.
Taylor: ok, but youre gonna have to know the truth, soon and itll be much less painful for you to know about it now rather than later... *Walks off*
