crank walk my friend, i had the same issue

I love it when everyone throws in their guess as to what the problem is based on a grainy 240p video upload of an engine ticking. "Its the lifters, its a spun bearing, its a mouse tap dancing inside the crankcase...."

Same thing happened to mine. We put a race head on a new bottom end and it works fine
-
sounds pretty deep and not much of a ticking defently low end take the oil pan off and see wich ones are lose

spun rod bearing...

@midnightride42 at least they took it out of its misery hahahaha

yes that would be the rods...i had the same exact problem...now it's bored .50 over and crank turned
actually having that clip helped determine what the sound was. Every dsm owner who watched/heard the clip said right away what it was. it wasnt the lifters as i stated i rwplaced them with new/revised ones. 4g63 motors are solid motors for most part if taken care of.

I had the car tuned by a local performance shop the day before and in the way home the next day cruising at 65mph it started knocking. I installed revised lifters and it still made the same sound. Took the motor out and put a new short block on. Car ran great till it was sold and then he totaled it.

Yes, it was the rod bearing. Pulled the pan and there was metal shavings.
