Germany's Social Democratic (SPD)-Green party coalition government employed fabrications and manipulated facts to overcome popular opposition to the participation of the German armed forces in NATO's war against Yugoslavia in 1999. A German TV report by journalists Jo Angerer and Mathias Werth entitled "It Began With a Lie" provides proof of this.

I wish that somebody were able to find the truth around the 11th of March in Madrid. Believe me if I tell you that the way the spanish people have accepted and incredible explanation made up of coincidences and blatant lies, will be a case of study in universities next century

All of these lies begin with the concoction of politics over Kosovo between Milosevic and Vllasi...Vllasi couldn't control his stupid people, and now the nearly 2 million citizens of Kosovo live in a land borne of lies...major, life-wrenching, blood-boiling lies...why isn't there a report on 1987, or a report on why Croatia and Slovenia became gullible believing that Serbia wanted to be 'THE RULERS' of SFRY???? It's all in OSCE and the UN...they shouldn't have let this whole issue occur....

This is a useful case-study, for the purpose of how Western politicians, (with the help of the controlled media), make case for war by lying to an otherwise reluctant, but gullible public. There is actually nothing earthshaking here, the phenomenon is well known, - among students of history. Question is: Will the public ever learn, and be more sceptical? Or better yet, demand participatory democracy in lieu of a corrupted, elite controlled 'representative' one, which resembles a kabuki play?
