Baryton Trio Valkkoog - Adagio & Finale Fuga - Haydn "Birthday" Trio (Nr. 97)

Haydn composed this trio to celebrate the anniversary of his employer, Prince Nikolaus Esterházy. The prince was a keen baryton player. He commissioned 126 trios from Haydn.

Valkkoog is a little village (pop.: 150) in Holland, 60km north of Amsterdam.

Paulina and Jacek are students at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. They are not regular members of the Baryton Trio Valkkoog, but volunteered to participate in making the present videos. Their instruments are a baroque viola and a baroque 'cello.
