Shane Smeltz, the A-League's deadliest striker, scored 19 goals in 2009/10 and 12 goals the season before, winning two golden boots and a Johnny Warren Medal for his efforts. This video features his work for Wellington, Gold Coast and New Zealand, to the tune of 'Four on the Floor' by Spiderbait - (c) Copyright Polydor Records 2001.
EDIT: Smeltz played the full 90 minutes in New Zealand's World Cup opener versus Slovakia, putting in the assist for Winston Reid's last-minute equaliser. In the next match, versus Italy, Smeltz scored an early goal to give the All Whites an unlikely 1-0 lead over the reigning World Champions. This makes Smeltz the first A-League player to score a goal at the World Cup. The Italians fought back but the Kiwis showed spirit, discipline and defensive solidity to hold on for a famous 1-1 draw (somewhat overshadowed by Slovakia's stunning 3-2 win in Italy's next match).
Smeltz now plays for Perth Glory FC. In the last round of the 2011/12 season he scored all of Perth's goals in their 4-2 win over Melbourne--this took his A-League tally to 62 goals, overtaking Archie Thompson to become the highest goalscorer in the league's modest history.

Why didn't any big teams buy him???? If he is so good as you say, you would be playing for a big club by now.. Don't overestimate your miserable football in your country.. Most top players in Japan now play for top clubs in Europe not in J-league. Japanese women's team got the world cup in 2011 and they got the silver medal in the olympic game and men's team went to the second round after beating Cameroon and Denmark in the world cup 2010 and men's olympic team became 4th place How about NZ???

@kk2010ist in case ur too stupid to realize this, there are a few videos u have commented on that include great goals. these goals are world class and probably don't meet the criteria of your liking but they happened because of excellent playing which probably is rare in the J-League so STFU

Chris Killen wasn't successful in playing for Celtic so he had to be transfered to a Chinese team that no one knows.. If he was successful in the UK, why didn't top British club try to buy him??? He played for Celtic but spent most of his time on the bench during his old days in Glasgow.. Shunsuke Nakamura was very successful in Celtic Watch his play on You Tube especially his free kick against Man United. Poor Fisher & Pickel guy.. You can't beat Sony, Panasonic, Tokota, Canon, Honda, more..
