OSAAT Naatya-Raaga 2008 Dance Competition
Senior Semi-Classical category
Team # 3 will present "The Sixth Sense", a semi-classical dance number in Raga Saraswathi set to Rupaka tala. The Sixth sense, unique to human beings, is the unexplained power of intuition by which we are aware of things that cannot be seen, smelled, heard, tasted or touched. The dancers admire beauty through sight as in admiring statues in a museum. Senses such as hearing and smell are depicted by a group of girls playing "Blind Man's bluff". Smell is portrayed by sorting potpourri, and cooking. The sense of touch is portrayed by how we react to cold or heat. Finally the dance shows how these five senses come together giving rise to the sixth sense in human beings, making them the greatest living beings in the universe.
