ASKA American Shotokan Karate Academy Blast from the Past #2

William (Bill) Beason in the white gi (karate uniform) former SKA (Shotokan Karate of America) member and direct student of Errol Bennett Sensei of NYC, fights at an open karate tournament in NYC during the late 1980's. Bill is one of East Coast's finest karatekas. He has won numerous Grand Championships both in Kata and Kumite. He is the nephew of ASKA's Chief Instructor Jackson Sensei. Bill's karate beginnings where humble, but proud. He started his training in the basement of his Uncle's house (1972) in the Bronx (New York City), before training under Bennett Sensei in 1974. Bill retired from karate in 1993, and is truly missed by the martial arts community... Your biggest fan, your Uncle Jackson Sensei.

Hi Artie, were you @ Bennett's also? I appreciate the nice comment. you are right those were the goood old days, the only days better were the bare knuckle days with shin guards only. My Uncle Mike Jackson posted this one. He has some other vintage footage and will be posting in the near future. subscribe to his listing and you will see other stuff. He has some other good footage. if anyone has any old stuff from days in NY please post also. talking about early 70s thru 80s.

Jonas Nunez has always been a stand up guy. He's an excellant trainer, a good father and family man, a good friend and a true Martial Artist. We go way back and I love this Punk like family. He has done more for Martial Arts than some people do for their own family. He's my friend, but I'm better looking.
