Passenger Describes Dangerous Landing

You probably saw this in the news a few days ago:

A German Lufthansa jet carrying 131 passengers was caught by gusting wind as it tried to land during a storm, causing a wing tip to graze the runway before the pilot got the plane back off the ground.

The pilot was able to stabilize the aircraft and take off again in what he called an "absolutely professional maneuver"

The plane landed safely shortly afterward on its second attempt. The incident happened on Hamburg airport on a flight from Munich

Everybody praises the pilot, but I am not sure he should have attempted to land at all in these conditions at all. If he knew about this in advance, he put the passengers at risk:-/

I think at that weather, planes shall not be allowed to take off nor land except for emergencies.
