A tribute to Christmas in the 1950's---and the great voice artist who brought laughter to millions. This one was filmed on Feb 8th, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help school in Hammond, Indiana---and the classroom looks almost exactly the same as it did 50 years ago!.

  • Joshstill--- Thanks for the comment; now that you mention it, it IS rather "Groucho-esque"! Check out my NEW Christmas video -- it's over on the right side of the screen: "A tribute to Stan Freberg's Nuttin' for Christmas". It's considerably more insane than the Mel Blanc, but it's ALSO a great, mid-50's song by an iconic voice artist/comedian.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

  • Maestro Larry, you are beyond brilliant!! What an entertaining video this is! One of my sorest losses is the large full color "Schnitzelbank" poster that I had as a child. I had never heard Mel's wonderful take on the song, and your performance was fantastic!

  • Maestro Ed--

Thanks for your comments! Incidentally, there are a plans for a SECOND Christmas video similar to this one for next year. Stay tuned......

  • Hello again Professor Larry -

I agree with seasnskies - you should become an actor! So, my friend, WHEN are you going to post another video?? We anxiously await

  • I have other things I plan on posting, but they are unfortunately nothing like this video. Some will be of orchestra conducting gigs I have done, another is a docementary on old toy stores in my home-town area, etc. In a couple of others, I DO appear as an actor portraying 19th-century composers....but nothing as outrageous as Mel Blanc. I am, however, thinking of possibly doing another Christmas video for next year; not sure if it can be accomplished, but I'll let you know if it happens.

  • Hey Larry - you've got an open invitation to my Christmas Party - come as the Professor - .........I've got free candy - I just love your video and watch it multiple times a day. When are you making another one??

  • Thanks for the compliments--and the invitation. I have some other video things that I'm going to post soon, but they're nothing like Mel's song. I'm afraid this may prove to be the high point of my You Tube fame.

    Merry Christmas...and keep watching!
