@erik1loebl This is even later, but maybe other people with the same problem find this answer. On the lower left side of the scree, where you have your tracks, there are some icons near the track name. One of them allows you to make the track a "compositing child". Click that one. It worked for me.

I got a problem. When I try to put a text on the top of a video, that part becomes black and with black background.
I wanted to put it with transparent background but I put it and it still becomes black. Help :x

This is really late, but are you using Sony Vegas?
If so, make sure you right click in the "Text" area, and choose, "insert text media".
