What's in a word? Well actually, an awful lot, especially when that word is the Word of God. Please watch this episode of The Vortex and pass it on to your family and friends .. especially anyone you know who is PROTESTANT.

  • Thank you so much for discussing this. I have actually seen this translated both ways in two different Douay Rheims editions presently sitting on my Catholic book shelf. It has greatly confused me for years. I should add that I have only seen the "he" translation the one time, whereas all others were/are "she." There is plenty of evidence (e.g., Christian art as Michael mentions) that the "she" translation is the far more accepted version. This is not an insignificant issue. Thanks again.

  • @wongchiko MIchael Coren talks about a lot of this in his book "why Catholics are right", might be helpful?

  • Gen 3:15 is the very reason why Satan hates Mother Mary and wage war against Her and the rest of Her seed (Rev12:17)

“The serpent however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current”(Rev12:15)

The river of water is made of new theological doctrines, which have sought to obscure the image of our Mother, to deny her privileges, to take Her out of picture, to restructure devotion to her, and to cast ridicule upon all those who are devoted to her.

  • Michael, thankyou for the most indepth explanation for the confusion and division circulating amongst Prostestants, Catholics and non-Protestants alike as a result of this reading from sacred scripture. Though Ì`d been taught (and had no problem believing) that both versions are correct in truthfulness, but not equally accurate in conveying the full meaning, I have never been given such a full explanation of the reasons which lie behind this truth. Thanks for the enlightenment.

  • off topic question: How should we explain if non-believers ask about "why did your church burn the witches?" "why your church was so brutal in crusades?" "why your church oppressed the scientist who suggested the earth is not flat ....?" Would you please make some episodes on these issues? God bless !

  • This is one of the reasons I switched to reading the Douay Rheims bible. The new Catholic bibles are very loose in their footnotes and interpretation of passages, so as to completely obliterate the scriptural reasons why we venerate Our Lady. Thankfully also, in the Traditional Latin mass, the Vulgate is used for the readings.

  • There's a theory also about the name of our lady of Guadalupe that in realty the name that she give to st. Juan Diego was coatlaxopeuh wish translates to "she who cruches the serpent" But the spaniards thought that in was Guadalupe because coatlaxopeuh sounds very similar to Guadalupe.

  • How odd....

I have not looked it up quite yet, but I can only recall reading and hearing SHE. I'm so curious now that I may have to read the bible more regularly! (More than just a few times/week.)

  • @bammbamm12 just a note on that image. There was a 'trendy' clothing store that had a bikini with that image plasted all over it.A parishoner from our church was so disgusted by it that she barged in and demanded that it be removed from the racks and especially from the main display window. She then contacted our legion of mary.I was appointed to go speak with the manager, but when i got there, the bikini was already removed from the racks.God Bless the soldiers of Our Lady :)

  • We can verify the prophesied physical contact between Mary and the Antichrist (crushing his head) by looking at prefiguring in the Old Testament. David vs Goliath prefigures Christ vs Antichrist, but there is no physical contact between the combatants; the contact is between the pebble and Goliath's head. David's five smooth pebbles prefigure Mary's Rosary. The Book of Esther is a similar prophecy: Haman (Antichrist) has physical contact with Esther (Mary) but NOT with King Ahasuerus (Christ).
