My parents grew up at the turn of the century (20th). This was their music. They had records of those songs.
When I was 3-5 during the Second World War my mother would put me down for a nap in the afternoons (for a little break, I'm sure). She would put the radio on low and I would listen to the songs that she and my father had. I especially

@easternmind That's truly incredible. His record of "My Blue Heaven" was the biggest-selling single record for a great many years. So sad that people have interest in perspective.

I love the movie 'PITTSBURG'. Though not this version, this was the theme song, certainly a beautiful, beautiful song.

The most beautiful recording of Garden In The Rain is this 1929 version. Not only his singing, but the background music is gorgeous. WOW!!!
