Peggy Gordon is a Canadian folk song that has become popular in many English-speaking countries.[1] As a folk song it was first collected in the 1950s[2] and 1960s[3] in Canada, mainly in Nova Scotia.[4] Versions of this song, in the form of a vaudeville song,[5] were published in New York from 1880.[6]

  • @squirell1952 unfortunately it is a canadian song . I believe first sang in Music halls in US?

  • a lot of irish say this is a Scottish number. Then a lot of Scottish say it's an Irish tune! It probably goes so far back in Celtic histoory that the song probably escaped from Wales! Or Cornwall! Or Cumbria! Or Geordieland! BUT IT IS BEAUTIFUL, IS IT NOT? DID LULU EVER RECORD IT ON HER OWN AND, IF NOT, WHY NOT?

  • WHERE IS THE PICTURE TO ACCOMANY THIS DEFINITIVE VERSION OF A BEAUTIFUL SCOTTISH/IRISH SONG, PLEASE? SOMEONE, PLUNDER THE ARCHIVES OF THE B.B.C. TO FIND IT. DO IT NOW. I WANT TO SEE IT NOW!!

  • Not a bad version.

  • this is gay as fuck. its a fuckin scottish tune. drink a pint then try again, fucker.

  • An absolutely beautiful performance from Lulu!

Go sign our petition show your support for the sensational songstress!

  • I love Lulu's vocals on this :D

    Another reason to love her!!!!!

  • It's actually a Traditional Scottish ballad, the best version is covered by Luke Kelly, you can find it on here.

  • On Song 2, singing with Lulu. I love it
