Requition (2008)

"A young man sits on a park bench, penitent for committing homicide. His victim's brother appears, desperate for revenge. In time, their destinies will be realised."

We made this film for an assignment in our Music Styles class. The assignment involved choosing a piece of visual art and composing music to go with it. We could either choose something that already existed or create our own. Our group decided to create a film (and I wouldn't have had it any other way :P).

We didn't have a lot of time to do the film so we had to rush through it. If we had more time we could have put more time into finely crafting it, but since we weren't getting any marks for the film we had to prioritise.

We had shot everything we needed by our last day we had to work on the film... unfortunately, the not-exactly-great school camera we were forced to use messed up and didn't properly record most of the footage we shot on that day. We lost all of our footage of the end as well as the beginning of the chase. We had to make do with the footage we had, so the start of the chase isn't quite as riveting as it would be if we had all we'd shot.

So do bear all of this in mind when you watch it. I hope you can still enjoy it for what it is and even though it's just intertitles describing what's going on at the end, I hope you can still stay in the moment and interpret the deeper meaning of the film based on this.
