On "Hardball," NAACP Kweisi Mfume hammers Fox News' Glenn Beck after calling President Obama "a racist" on "Fox & Friends." "Glenn Beck owes the President an apology," Mfume says. "This is an insult to our democracy and our way of life."

Salon's Joan Walsh adds that Beck is much like fellow right-wing talker Rush Limbaugh, in that they both display "a clear case of projection," in which they are both "projecting their own hate onto" the President. She also calls Fox News' statement regarding Beck's comments "crap."

  • Can you tell me what a "typical white person" is? How bout "white folks"? Are those not racist terms? Just because one is not derogatory does not make it non-racist. Are blacks not racist? Are Mexicans not racist? Who among the Earth at some point has not said something about another race? Racism is nothing short of human instinct. All humans are racist. Even people who are supposedly not racist. Is it not racist to make college funds strictly for one race? How bout hiring laws for one race?

  • @teward Learn the facts of reconstruction before you bring it up. Then learn the facts of slavery. After that you might want to look into picking up Obamas own books and listening to his own words. "typical white person" that isn't racist right? "white folks don't understand" isn't racist. You know Obama is not racist he is anti-success. Success breeds independence which makes government useless. Therefore learn more about your countries past. What they tell you are only 1/4-1/2 truth's learn.

  • u shouldn't get mad at Glenn beck he just saying what he believes. if he wants to b racist so what. if he doesn't think he is racist so what. Black people should not pay attention to this. There are many issues that black people must attack themselves because no one will give it to blacks after slavery was reconstruction then plessy vs fergeson made segregation legal. Blacks must take control of their future> let those who hate, hate. Those that wont to help, help

  • I know the new hate-crime bill he signed couple of years ago does not include heterosexual whites. Glenn Beck simply used his right of freedom of speech, and due to political correctness, he was scorned for it by hypocrites such as Chris Mathews, NAACP, MSNBC because they don't want to accept other people's opinions. It is like how if someone is against Obama, people as the ones as mentioned aboved, assume it is race related.

  • I very well might have to do this in a two part but the whole black-white/white-black issue is never going to go away. MSNBC is left wing/liberal station and all they see is black and white as opposed to the NAACP just seeing black. I've never heard anyone from the NAACP apologize once for falsely accusing whites of racism, or finding out racism was not the issue. I have no opinion about whether or not Obama likes or dislikes whites nor am I going to pretend I know otherwise, however...

  • Obama mother was white so Glen Beck sounds stupid. FIRE GLEN BECK and white woman and her family raised Obama

  • I don't think Obama is a racist! Well, at least he likes white people with lots of money!!!

  • @wsijtsma HaHa! Oh Pleeesee! @ "developed themselves into". That is the best u can do? Yet U fail to realize the NAACP STILL has white members nationally? U are a lost cause> Peace! :P

  • @MrsD7777 That was then, this is now. In the days the NAACP was founded there was an actual need for them. In the last 10 years they have developed themselves to a racist organization.

  • @wsijtsma LOL@U! Can U say or even spell: RESEARCH? "The NAACP was founded on February 12, 1909 by a diverse group composed of W.E.B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells, Archibald Grimké, Henry Moscowitz, Mary White Ovington, Oswald Garrison Villard, William English Walling (the last son of a former slave-holding family),[10][11] and Florence Kelley, a social reformer and friend of Du Bois."

    8 Founders...ONLY 3 were Black! Peace
