'Colors of Seduction' is a short piece that was originally composed by Pejman Azarmina for recorder in August 1999 in Tehran, Iran; which was later arranged for a woodwind quartet. This version is a transposition and arrangement for solo santur (Persian hammered dulcimer). It is in A, G and D Dashti as well as F major. The main theme sounds like Dashti, but there are no quarter-tones in it and that's why it can be performed by any Western instrument. The theme is repeated in three different places, each time giving it a distinct character.

  • Dear Mr. Azarmina,

I would love to attend your online classes. Could you please let us know who can attend?

  • Please send me an e-mail or message to introduce yourself and tell me about your musical background and objectives. Then I will respond with some detail regarding my Skype-based class.

  • Ostad, which Mezrabs do you recommend?

is Fallahi or Gheidarpoor high quality?

  • I have used Mr. Gheidarpour mezrabs since I started santur and am very happy with them. I am sure there many other types of mezrabs that are high quality and recommendable, but I am not aware of.

  • I have listened to this a few time during the last week. The piece flows so well, I really wish I could play it, but its too advanced for me, intimidating indeed!

Ostad if you have a chance could you upload a small lessen for begginers?

  • Thanks for your kind feedback. You understood a very important point about this piece: its natural flow.

Regarding lessons, I believe a generic lesson might not be very effective and YouTube doesn't grant interactivity. I have an online class and teach via Skype to those who would like to attend my class.
