  • How accurate is this pistol for you?

  • @perspicacity89 Out of the box, this is one of the most accurate 1911's I have ever shot. At 11-yards, I can keep 5 within a 3" circle while standing and keep 10 within a 5" circle. I have never tested this pistol in a vice, but I imagine that the groups would be extremely tight. I have the gun modified some - nothing extensive, just some add-ons to help with my speed. I added a Dawson FO front sight, a Dawson ICE Magwell, a Wilson Combat mag release, and some Wilson 47DE mags.

I thought the Springfield Trophy Match already had a match grade bushing fitted, as well as all the other parts being match grade and hand fit. Isn't that why Springfield called it "Trophy Match". I own a Trophy Match and accuracy and reliability is very impressive.

  • @carrubep You should pay a gunsmith to put on a match bushing for you. I imagine the barrel lockup is already ultra tight. If you get that bushing on there (custom by a smith), then the gun should shoot 1'' groups at 25 yards. That would be amazing.
