usually i prefer the original version (english) but in thief 2, i prefer karras voice in french, he sound more evil than in english in my opinion

In the english version, Karras was suffering from speech impediment (hence the froggish voice).
But it seems the french version got a good dub. Those are quite rare.

Thief 1 and 2 have a perfect french voices version, and it's quite rare.
I cried so much when Thief 3 was released : no more french voice :'(

Yeah, I've been disappointed too by the absence of the french dubbing. But, I don't remember how to do it though, you can change the language of the game text (books) by tweaking something in the config.ini if I'm correct.

French, eh? Karras sounds like he lost his lisp and both his and the robot's voices sound out of place. I say, if anything is translated, just add text to the bottom.

Yeah, maybe you're right. Initially, if you had play the english version of the game and you are accustomed to the english voice of Karras, that's maybe what you can hear from the french voice. Personnaly, I've first played the french version and never played the english one. But I saw the end movies here on youtube. I find that the english voice of Karras is like "froggish" and seems not really serious contrary to the french voice which I find mean. Peace !

hehe no. I talk about the Karras voice in the english version. The way he speaks sound like he's a frog, litteraly. Not a french frog lol !
